４月の色のエネルギーをもらいながら、ジャム屋さんのリリーが心を込めて作る３つのジャムを楽しみました。

その傍ら、PIANOPIANOの寄付金の計算、PIANOPIANOの新しい企画などの話し合いをした春の日でした。

Artisan small bag – Chikumbuso Widows & Orphans Project

I encountered the project called Chikumbuso, a grassroots project in Ng’ombe, Zambia, which provides an alternative lifestyle to the most vulnerable women and children in the township.

Through skill training, micro enterprise supports their artists and their families and brings money back into the project.  The first priority for the group became finding a means of making money. They had little formal education and leaned on artistic skills. The handbag project began with just a few recycled Shoprite bags, a crochet hook and a pair of scissors. Today, the group has grown to 45 widows and 25 at risk youth making beautiful handcrafted items.

I have been using another bag from Chikumbuso for five years, it doesn’t become old and it is waterproof.

Most of the bags were sold out before introducing on our website. This is the last bag.  It has a small pocket inside the bag, this is not on sale on our website.  The price was £39 but now £30.   Please contact us if you would like to purchase this wonderful bag.

Golden Autumn – in Lithuania

週末リトアニアへ大切な友人のお祝いに行ってきました。　二回目のリトアニアトリップです。

前回は春に訪れ、青々した緑の街でしたが、今回は首都ヴィルニュスの街、郊外の森は、紅葉した木々で金色に輝く街・森に変わっていました。

Last weekend I visited Vilnius for the celebration.  Everywhere has turned into golden colour with leaves and trees.

そして、まさにりんごやペアーの実りの季節。街や家庭にもたくさん見られました。

収穫された果物や野菜は冬に備えて、ジュースやジャムやピクルスに。

寒いロンドンの冬（リトアニアはもっと寒い）にこれがなければ冬が越せないウールの靴下ー履きつぶしてこれは３代目。リトアニアリネンで編まれた、リネンタオル。柔らかくて肌にやさしい。

Linen towel from Jurate , it is very soft and wool socks – I can’t spend winter without LT socks.

素敵な森の薫りのするアロマオイル＋ソイキャンドル。Geralda はキャンドルの会社です。興味深いと思ったのが、ここの会社の理念。従業員を尊重しながら、トヨタ生産方式（７つの無駄ー作りすぎのムダ・手持ちのムダ・運搬のムダ・加工しすぎのムダ、在庫のムダ、動作のムダ、不良をつくるムダ）を取り入れていて、ほとんどのメンバーが１９９５年創業以来 働き続けてているそうです。

寒い冬にこのキャンドルを焚きながら、本を読む時間が楽しみです。

The candle’s scent reminds the wild forest in winter.    The candle manufacturer Geralda follows Toyota production philosophy（TPS).

The main objectives of TPS philosophy are to design out overburden and inconsistency  and to eliminate waste called Japanese term – MUDA(Waste) .  There are seven kinds of MUDA that are addressed: Waste of over production (largest waste),Waste of time on hand (waiting),Waste of transportation,Waste of processing itself,Waste of stock at hand,Waste of movement,Waste of making defective products.

I am looking forward to reading a book with this candle this winter.

I recommend to try Lithuanian sauna therapy called Pirtis.  When I received it last time I felt as if I was given heat, moisture, healing, woody fragrance,cleansing,detoxing, nourishing and grounding by a forest.   Jonas and his wife Justina are wonderful Pirtis therapists.

長くなりましたが、ずっとリトアニアのことが書きたかったので、すっきりしました。

Cedar incense

I have a tiny sanctuary space in my new home.  If I put a Cedar incense there, I feel the deep forest scent covers all over my flat.

This beautiful natural incense came from Maine in USA.  All natural 50cones and holder.

Cedar has a deep calming and relaxing affect and is wonderful for easing stress and anxiety. If you are unwinding at the end of the day, this would be a great fragrance choice.  Scientifically proven Cedarwood has been shown to successfully treat the effects of ADD （attention deficit disorder） and ADHD（Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder） in children.

It should be used for these positive attributes: focus, concentration,strength,confidence, balance, stability, comfort, persistence, fortitude, and nobility of spirit.

I heard once upon a time native Americans would use Cedar for purification and meditation to contact the great spirit.

For myself, this smell reminds of me Japan.  This reminds me how much I miss my grandfather and his mountain…

深い山の木々の香りが恋しくなりました。 日本では山に囲まれた生活をしていたので、雨上がりの山や、真冬の山や、蝉が鳴り響く山や、いろんな山の思い出があります。 ロンドンに住んでからは、そういう匂いの記憶が遠ざかっていました。

そんな記憶を呼び戻すような、お香と出会いました。 アメリカ北東からやってきた、自生する杉のお香です。 ネイティブアメリカンはグレートスピリットとコンタクトがとれるように、これを浄化と瞑想に使っていたといわれています。

The rugs’ leather is reclaimed from leftovers from the clothing industry. Jute is a great eco product as it is made from natural vegetable fibre that can be spun into coarse strong threads. This makes it perfect for creating strong, durable rugs !

It is not only fashionable, we simply feel confortable feeling when we are surrounded by products made under fair and natural methods.

This April, I will jump into the outside from this lovely rug !

新しいエネルギーを求めて引越しをしたので、玄関の廊下のラグを購入しました。

自然素材のジュード５０％、皮５０％で編んであります。 インドでフェアな労働条件の元に作られているラグ。 しっかりとしていて強いのにやわらかくて、靴などを脱ぎ履きする入り口にはもってこいのものです。 シルバーの皮なので、お日様があたると、ちょっときらきらしてかわいくて、一目ぼれしました。

こうやって、心ときめくフェアトレードのプロダクトはみんなの意識改革にもなるし、こういうものは、プロダクトそのものの存在感がとても自然体で、使っていてもとても気持ちよくなれるものです。 特別ではなくこういう当たり前の感覚を大切にPIANOPIANOもすすんでいきたいです。

４月はこのラグを敷いた玄関から元気に外へ出たいと思います。

PAPER FROM AFRICA

 

I like letters.

When we write a letter, we will be careful to write letters and think about the content more than in an email.

I enjoy the moments surrounding sending and receiving the letter.

We used to do it all the time but now we are not patient enough, we want to send a message soon and want to receive the reply even quicker.

By the way, the paper displayed are made from Baobab bark (below) and elephant dung (above). Two groups in Malawi called Chifundo and Pamet are inspiring projects that were set up to teach people how to recycle paper. This is an important issue in Malawi, where everything From Newspapers To Elephant Dung Is Recycled.

 

手紙がすき。

メールも好きだけど、書いて送る手紙も好き。

間違えないように、気をつけて書く。

文字や文に気を使う瞬間が好き。

手紙を出して、返事を待つという「間」も好き。

日本語の漢字は 「葉書」と書くけど、自然に落ちた木の葉を集め、紙にする。

そういうアイデアはとても素敵で、自然なことだと思う。

木や、象の糞、新聞から何でもをリサイクルして作る。

デザインや、想像力というのは、どんなものからでも成り得るもの。それは、人の中に常にある。

生きている間、全部といっていいほど、この想像力を使い切りたい。

この紙を前にして、意思の強い想像力を書こう。

紙にも心がこもっていたら、きっと形になる。

‘Fair trade’ solution to learning a new language

Now The word “ Fair trade” is getting familiar, Now the new idea for the fair trade is to learn a new language.

フェアトレードがゆっくりと浸透している今。こういうアイデアも登場してきた。言語という知識をシェアするフェアトレード。 これをオーガナイズしているのは、非営利団体のGlovicoという団体。 フランス語圏のアイボリーコーストや スペイン語圏のペルーなどで、実施されている。 学びたい人は、８ユーロ程度を払い、フランス語・スペイン語を学べる。 ２ユーロは組織運営費に、残りは先生たちに払われる。

デジタル化を利用した、新しいタイプのフェアトレーディングが登場してきた。働く上で労働条件が整っていくのは、どの国においても、必要なことだし、皆が望むことだ。

Eco space in France

 

 

日本の友人maico からのリクエストがあり、エコビレッジ Ecolinie のﾚﾎﾟｰﾄ。

夏に以前から訪れてみたかった エコビレッジ Ecolonie へロンドンからブ～ンとバイクでいってきました。そこは、お水で有名な「vittel」や「Contrex」の源泉のすぐ近くにあるエコビレッジです。

このオーナーはフランス人ではなく、オランダ人です。ほとんどがオランダ人でした。スタッフとボランティアスタッフで構成されています。 誰でも訪れられる宿泊施設、オーガニックベジタリアン料理、有機農業でのほぼ自給自足の生活、それらがここのキーワードです。私はキャンプをしました。ひろ～い野原の輪郭にテントがぽつぽつとあり、静かな野原、家族で泊まれるにぎやかな森など、かなり広い敷地です。

池があり、子供はのびのびと８時ぐらいまで、遊んでいました。

スタッフやボランティアスタッフの方たちで、大切に野菜・果物が、オーガニックで育てられています。朝は植物が美しく育つため、歌が歌われていました。

私が一番勉強になった点は、キャンプゲストにも、すべての製品（石鹸・シャンプー・食器洗剤）をオーガニック製品を使うとの決まりがあること。排水の水も、全部自然の返し、そしてそれが土にいきわたり、その土で無農薬の野菜を作り、私達の口に入るからである。１９８９年から続いている。

オランダ人の創設者は、自給自足の有機農業で人々が生きていけるコミュニティーを作りたいとのことで、いろいろな土地をまわり、長い年月をかけてここにめぐり合ったそうです。そこに決めた理由は、質の良い水がながれていること・風水の観点からみて良いエネルギーが流れている、ことだったそうです。種まきは陰暦・月の満ち欠けの時期に。本当に良いエネルギーが流れているのでしょう。オランダから、ベルギーからと、人が集ってきます。出合ってお話した人達は、殆どがリピーターで初めてなのは私ぐらいでした。毎朝テント外でヨガの練習をする時に、お隣のテントのおじさんもヨガをしていて、とてもよい友達になりました。隣のお隣さんは、チャクラヨガの先生のオランダ人のイス。最後の朝は彼女のチャクラヨガを一緒にさせてもらいました。

朝７時には焼きたてのクロッワッサンに皆が行列を作っていました。クロッワッサンを待っているみんなの姿がなんともほほえましい。ディナーの５時近くには鐘がなります。農作業をしているスタッフもゲストも、みんな野外の広場に集まり、セルフサービスのディナー。オーガニックベジタリアンのお料理、とっても美味でした。食べ終わったら、大きなバケツが３、４つぐらいあり、それぞれ、すすぐ→洗う→拭く という行程も皆でやります。合宿みたいで、楽しかった。
