Golden Autumn – in Lithuania

週末リトアニアへ大切な友人のお祝いに行ってきました。　二回目のリトアニアトリップです。

前回は春に訪れ、青々した緑の街でしたが、今回は首都ヴィルニュスの街、郊外の森は、紅葉した木々で金色に輝く街・森に変わっていました。

Last weekend I visited Vilnius for the celebration.  Everywhere has turned into golden colour with leaves and trees.

そして、まさにりんごやペアーの実りの季節。街や家庭にもたくさん見られました。

収穫された果物や野菜は冬に備えて、ジュースやジャムやピクルスに。

寒いロンドンの冬（リトアニアはもっと寒い）にこれがなければ冬が越せないウールの靴下ー履きつぶしてこれは３代目。リトアニアリネンで編まれた、リネンタオル。柔らかくて肌にやさしい。

Linen towel from Jurate , it is very soft and wool socks – I can’t spend winter without LT socks.

素敵な森の薫りのするアロマオイル＋ソイキャンドル。Geralda はキャンドルの会社です。興味深いと思ったのが、ここの会社の理念。従業員を尊重しながら、トヨタ生産方式（７つの無駄ー作りすぎのムダ・手持ちのムダ・運搬のムダ・加工しすぎのムダ、在庫のムダ、動作のムダ、不良をつくるムダ）を取り入れていて、ほとんどのメンバーが１９９５年創業以来 働き続けてているそうです。

長くなりましたが、ずっとリトアニアのことが書きたかったので、すっきりしました。

South east England, New Forest

Harvest Autumn has already arrived in the forest.

We started to walk into the deep forest.

Green, Moss, Water drops, Leaves, Stream, Trees, Various creature….

Sanctuary spaces spread over the forest.

I followed mushrooms masters, picking it carefully.

Slow Life – the day reminds me the one of PIANOPIANO slogan.

I could aware it thanks to friends from Lithuania.

ロンドンから車を走らせて2時間半、ニューフォーレストという森へマッシュルーム狩りへ行きました。

秋がすっかり到来していた森には、きれいな苔や倒れた木からまた新たな命の木が伸びていたり… 雨が続いていたイギリスの森は生き生きとした自然の世界が静かに広がっていました。

連れて行ったくれたのはリトアニア人の友人達。
リトアニア語が飛び交う賑やかな車の中。リトアニアでは、マッシュルーム狩りは恒例の秋のイベント。2歳の女の子も元気に森を歩いていました。

たくさん歩きました。足元や木の根元を見てマッシュルームを探し、見つけたらナイフでそっと採ります。みんなマッシュルームの事を良く見分けられるキノコ博士でした。

帰りにはヘーゼルナッツの森も見つけて、しばし車を止めてヘーゼルナッツ狩り。たくさんのヘーゼルナッツを自然からいただきました。
ヘーゼルナッツはそのまま割って食べるんだよと、みんなが教えてくれました。

森と水の国リトアニア。木や森の事を良く知っているみんなは、子どもの頃から、自然と共存した生き方を学んでいるよう。
Slow life が自然に息づいている国。ヘーゼルナッツを手で割って頬張っているみんなを見て、笑いがでました。

いつかリトアニアへ行ってみたいな…

本当に久しぶりにスローな時間。

PIANOPIANOのプロジェクトにスローな時間を一番に乗せているのに、私自身がスローな時間をここ最近ずっと忘れていたような気がします。

そんな気づきがあった一日でした。

Cedar incense

I have a tiny sanctuary space in my new home.  If I put a Cedar incense there, I feel the deep forest scent covers all over my flat.

This beautiful natural incense came from Maine in USA.  All natural 50cones and holder.

深い山の木々の香りが恋しくなりました。 日本では山に囲まれた生活をしていたので、雨上がりの山や、真冬の山や、蝉が鳴り響く山や、いろんな山の思い出があります。 ロンドンに住んでからは、そういう匂いの記憶が遠ざかっていました。

そんな記憶を呼び戻すような、お香と出会いました。 アメリカ北東からやってきた、自生する杉のお香です。 ネイティブアメリカンはグレートスピリットとコンタクトがとれるように、これを浄化と瞑想に使っていたといわれています。

After reading this sentence by Osho, I thought I would like to try to feel happy without reason.  Happy…what is that? After 3minutes, I think when I am in amongst nature, I feel I am simply happy.  When I go to Yoga practice very early in the morning, the sky is so beautiful.  I feel I am very happy. Also when I breath in the forest, I feel full of heart.  I feel the whole existence is joyful.  There is no reason…

Baobab tree in Dakar- Senegal

チェコ人の友人に、一つの本をもらった。名前は「Trees」。 いつも私が、大きな木を見ると、抱きついているので、それを見て、きっと法子は木が好きなはずと思われて、誕生日でも何もないけど、無言でプレゼントしてくれた。 予想しないプレゼント、特別の日ではないのにいただくプレゼントって、何か違う嬉しさがある。 木の写真が５３０ページある。各ページに木の写真と、いろいろな人が書いた詩が書いてある。 今日開いたら、Oshoの詩だった。「存在するものがすべての喜びであり、ただ幸せなのである。木々は理由なしにただ幸せなのである・・・」

今、アフリカの国にいって、仕事をしたり、ロンドンでいろいろな国の人に毎日出会う。 そこで気づく。幸せは人によって違う。そして、基本的な幸せはみな同じではないかとも気づく。

メディアの影響で、アフリカ大陸の国々にはマイナスのイメージがつくことが多い。でも、物や国のお金の少ないマラウイ人が果たして不幸せか、その定義は他人がどうこういうことではない。幸せはそれぞれの人の中にある。

Oshoのいっていることを考えてみた。私は意味なくして幸せと感じる時があるか。 う～ん・・・問われたことのない質問だったので、３分ぐらい考えた。

やっぱり、ただ自然の中にいる時かな。朝の空を見たとき。森の中で深呼吸をするとき。そういう時、どんなに心が乱れていても、シンプルに幸せを感じる。

ケニアのマサイマラにいったとき、大自然の中に入った。像やきりんが近くにいる。風の音だけ。動物達は物も使わず、体一つで生きている。そういう自然の中に入った時、心の底から満たされていた。

Connection from England to the tree in Takeo Shrine, Japan

人生には時々、はっとする「つながり」がある。つながりのお話を聞くのが好きだ。今回は 私自身の「つながり」のお話にお付き合い下さいませ。では はじまりはじまり・・・

2008 年 夏

体を崩してしまい、周囲の人と体に迷惑を掛けてしまう。自分を見つめよと、体のお叱りを受ける。

2009年 冬

体も少しずつ回復、ヨガスタジオを探す。ロンドンには、ヨガスタジオが多い。私の近所にも個人のヨガスタジオがたくさんある。とりあえず、なんとなく電話をかけて、雰囲気で決めることにする。いくつか電話をかけて、声で決めた。 Billy Doyle.

ヨガのスタジオは家から200Mの、教会の空間。ビリーは20年も前から、そこでヨガを教えている。ビリーは私の住所をみて、へ～と小さい驚きの声をあげた。20年間、現在の私の家の前を通っていたから。彼のクラスは毎回20人ぐらいいて、年齢は様々、70歳ぐらいの人たちもいる。そして、ビリーに20年もヨガを教わっている人達がたくさんいた。ビリーは日本が好きで、私達は会ったこの頃から、よく日本のことを話したりしていた。私の祖父母が住んでいる武雄(佐賀県）東登りのお茶を母からいただいていたものを、プレゼントすると、緑茶マニアの彼はその味に非常に感動した。ダンボール一箱ぐらい注文したい！といったほど。武雄のお茶にビリーは触覚から出会った。私の母は、そういう人をすぐ応援してあげたくなるので、たまにお茶を送ってくれる。

＊ちなみに ビリーが恋に落ちたお茶は 佐賀県 武雄西川登の「原製茶園」さんのお茶。包装も美しく、イギリスの硬質のお水で入れてもおいしい。

2009年 2月

今度は私がびっくりする番だった。ビリーが自宅で開く、ヨガ哲学のレクチャーに参加しようと思い、彼の住所を見たときだ。私が10年前に二年ぐらい住んでいた、ストリートに彼は住んでいた。ロンドンの数ある道の中で、つながっていた。その日、最寄の駅から降りて、彼の家まで歩く感じが、8年前をよみがえさせる。その晩、ビリーの自宅で、みんなでメディテーションをしたあと、静かにビリーの話をきく。そして、その部屋の窓から見えたものは、私が住んでいた小さな部屋だった。なんと！真向かいだったのだ。びっくりした。なんだか10年前にホームシックや初めての外国にとまどったり、楽しんだりしている、「私」の影が見えるようだった。ビリーも、静かにびっくりしていた。多分すれ違っていたと思う。

2010年 3月

それから一年後、ビリーとビリーのかわいいスペイン人の奥さん、イザベラにディナーに招待された。10年前の私の部屋を背にして、おいしいスペイン料理を頂きながら、「Rupert Spira 」というビリーの友人の陶器家の話をする。彼は陶器に彼独自の文字で詩を書く。    そして、ふと地元「佐賀」の陶器の話をする。あれ？さっきあった、ライムをおいていた小さなお皿。なんとなく、佐賀の陶器のような気がする。もちろん彼らは、佐賀の陶器など知らない。ビリーが、キッチンから再び5センチほどの小皿をもってきた。裏をみたら。やっぱりそうだった。「古伊万里」。贈り物らしい。いいものですよ。と彼につげた。つながるな～・・・。お茶を飲みながら、「法子は夏にどこかへ行くのかい？」とビリーがきいたので、「また、バオバブの木を勉強しに、南部のアフリカへ・・・」と応えた。イザベラが「バオバブ？どんな木だっけ？」というので、説明していると、ビリーが突然、「イザベラ。ほら確か持っているだろう、バオバブが表紙になっている本」「う～ん」とイザベラが思い出しながら、「ああ！」ビリーが、ヨガ本が並ぶ大きな本棚の一番上の一番端の本を、イスを使って取る。「ほら、どうぞ・・・」手渡された本は

木好きにはたまらない、とてもきれいな装丁だった。魅了された。借りてもいいよという言葉に甘えて、大切に家に連れて帰った。

2010年3月 その翌日

夜、本のページをめくりながら、世界中の偉大な木の話にひきこまれる。特にたくさんのバオバブのお話がのっていた。大きな本で、とてもきれいな本を、１ページずつめくる至福の時。そして、106 ページ。「あれ？この木？・・・・・ええええ！うそ～～～！ 地元の私の神の木。武雄の大楠の木」が！ 私は帰国した時に、必ずエネルギーをもらう、世界で一番崇拝している木を、この本を通して見ようとは.。小さい小さい奇跡のようなつながりが、この瞬間を作ってくれたことを感動せずにはいられなかった。

著者がその本に武雄の大楠の木を選んだ訳は、その崇高さに感動したと書かれていた。

“REMARKABLE TREES OF THE WORLD “  より 抜粋して日本語訳

「私は武雄という町にある武雄神社の急な階段を一歩一歩登っていった。そしてこの大楠の木に出会った。この大楠の木の大きさは日本で6番目にランクされているが、そういうランクは私にとって重要ではない。崩れ落ちる部分もありながら、そこに独自のこの木の美しさがあった。木の裂け目から一すじの冬の太陽の光がさし、それはまるで東洋の窓からの光のようだった。ここは崇高な場所である。私はこの木の神霊に、丁寧に一礼し、そして微笑んだ。(途中略）」

以上。長くなりました。同じようにこの木を大切に思っている、武雄のもの作りの人達へ伝えたくて・・・

続編）次の日。いくつもりではなかったが、ビリーといくと約束して、レッスンにでたあと、ビリーから紹介された。一人の女性。前述した、陶芸家 の奥様。とっても素敵な方で、ダンスセラピストでした。Rupertは 金沢や福岡でも2004年に個展をしていました。Rupert Spira の陶芸も素敵でした。

 

Connection from ENGLAND to THE TREE IN TAKEO SHRINE IN JAPAN

In life people sometimes come across coincidence. I like to listen to this type of story. This time I am going to tell my own coincidental story.

2008 Summer

I lost my heath in the Summer, my body  told me off for not paying attention to it.

2009 Winter

My health was getting better, then I was looking for a Yoga studio, there are some Yoga studio near my house. I phoned a few Yoga classes and asked a few questions then I had a kind of feeling that I should go to his Yoga class through the voice on the phone, It is my Yoga teacher, Billy Doyle.

His class in Kew is very close from my house. Over 20 years he has been teaching Yoga in Kew. There are a variety of generations attending, also some people have practiced under Billy for 20 years !  I like his style of Yoga, approaching to the body and mind while listening to my body and becoming aware of energies around my body.

2009 February

I found Billy lives in same street where I used to live 10 years ago ! That was a surprise ! One day I went to his seminar “Talk and Guided Meditation” at his home. When I was walking the street, it made me recall the memory of 10 years ago. After the seminar, I looked down from his living room window. the window of my ex room jumped to my eyes. I could see an illusion that I was watching my shadow of 10 years ago. It was absolutely a mystical moment !  It was a connection between present and past.

2010 March

We are kindly invited by Billy and Isabella for dinner.  In the conversation he asked me about my summer plans, I said I am going to South part of Africa for my research about Baobab tree again. Isabella was wondering what kind of tree is Baobab, then Billy mentioned that they have a book covering Baobab trees. Isabella remembered then Billy took out from their big book shelf. The book was in the top shelf at the corner. He passed me the book “ REMARKABLE TREES OF THE WORLD” by Thomas Pakenham. The book has a beautiful cover, they kindly lent me the book. I went home holding the beautiful book.

2010 March next day

In the next evening, I was reading with a deep sigh of amazement.  Fascinating and wonderful stories related to the spiritual trees were introduced. When I reached the 106th page, this tree….very familiar shape.  WOW  !! It was the my god tree in my home town TAKEO in JAPAN. At that moment I couldn’t stop the feeling of a strong connection. To see my god tree through this book was true coincidence… even a miracle.

 

From “ REMAKABEL TREES OF THE WORLD”

“ When I climbed the steep steps to the Shinto shrine at Takeo in Japan, 600 miles south –wet of Tokyo, and was directed by a priest to the ‘3000-years old’ giant camphor nearby.

 

The camphor was bout 120 feet high and 66 feet in girth, making it the sixth largest tree in Japan. But that was not its greatest distinction . In decay it was extraordinarily beautiful. No one had smoothed out its cavities or tormented its branched and trunks with chainsaws. Unlike the other giant camphor I had seen,it had been given refuge in a freshly planted wood of cedars and blue-green bamboo safely set back from the buildings of the shrine.It was completely hollow , its age impossible to guess, as the tree rings that would have dated it had long vanished into dust.

The shafts of winter sun shone through the jagged holes like sunlight through fretted oriental windows.

Here was shawaragi – on a heroic scale. I bowed and smiled politely to the spirit of the tree.”

SEEDS FOR LIFE (KENYAN MUSIC)

 

ラッキーなことに、歩いて3分のところに250歳の王立植物園キューガーデンがあります。(2003年ユネスコ世界遺産に登録)。ここへ行くと、いろいろな木に出会い、学びます。私は木が大好き。イギリスでは珍しく有料のガーデン（植物園）で13ポンドぐらい入るのにかかりますが、会員になっているので、私は好きなときに行けます。

年明けに素敵な音楽達に出会いました。「SEEDS FOR LIFE」. ケニアの音楽を集めたCD。ケニアをよく知っている人なら、おなじみに「ハクナマタタ～♪」などの音楽。個人的にはエレクトロギターの入ったアフリカ音楽はあまり聞かないのだけど、このCDのコレクションはよかった。

さて、このCDの企画。キューガーデンのプロジェクト Kew’s Millennium Seed Band partnership:KMBP( 世界で特に厳しい環境にある植物達を守ろうというプロジェクト)の一つです。アフリカでは、マラウイ、タンザニア、ケニア、南アフリカ、ブレキﾅファソ、ナミビアなどで、このプロジェクトを通して、植物達の保護が始まっています。その経由で、このCDが誕生したのだそうです。

植物が人にエネルギーを与え、そのエネルギーで人が音楽を作り、そしてその音楽が植物のためになる。

そういう循環が、いいな・・・と 思った日でした。

Luckily The botanic Kew garden is 3 minutes on foot from where I live. Their history is very old, now 250 years old. I am always inspired and impressed by their passion for the plants and nature.  The gardens tell me many many stories, I am so lucky I have a membership card thanks to Mum and Dad in England.

I found a brilliant CD, the title is [ SEEDS FOR LIFE ].

The music is Kenyan music and a very nice collection. This CD is part of a project called Kew’s Millennium Seed Bank partnership(KMBP).

The Botanic Kew Gardens has a the largest ex site plant conservation project in the world called Kew’s Millennium Seed Bank partnership. Their focus is on global plant life faced with the threat of extinction and plants of most use for the future. The seeds they save are conserved outside their native habitat.

They  have been working in Kenya, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Malawi, Mali, Namibia, Republic of South Africa and Tanzania, to collect, conserve and use seed from a wide range of "useful" and threatened species.

A music producer living in Kew has collaborated with Kew’s Millennium Seed Bank Project (MSBP) and some of Kenya’s leading musicians to produce a CD – Seeds for Life – raising money for conservation work in Kenya and educating the country’s youngsters about their natural heritage.

Kenya’s biggest international hit, Hakuna Matata, Ho jambo and Plant Another One express the musicians concerns for the planet in both Swahili and English:

“Let’s take care of our environment, it’s the only one we have…
…If you cut down a tree, make sure you plant another one” From Plant Another One
